Dr. Joe was specially trained in fitting patients with special needs in contact lenses. This include patients with corneal diseases such as keratoconus, those wanting to correct their vision without surgery (orthokeratology), patients with high astigmatism and those wanting bifocal contact lenses or monovision.
* Monovision is a method of correcting one eye for distance and the other for reading in lieu of reading glasses.
** Keratoconus is a disease where the front part of the eye (the cornea) thins and becomes distorted. Glasses and regular contacts cannot correct this condition. Specially fitted rigid gas permeable contacts are needed for these patients to see clearly. Dr. Joe has fitted numerous keratoconic afflicted patients successfully after many failed attempts at other eye centers.
